Last updated: September 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information WiseOCR ("we", "us") collects when you use the website at https://wiseocr.com, the dashboard and the API (together, the "Service"), how we use it and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
WiseOCR is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@wiseocr.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture.
- API keys: the keys you create, their names and when they were last used.
- Billing information: your purchases, subscription status and credit balance. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details.
- Usage information: how many credits you use and when, and which integration or client sent the request.
- Documents you upload: the files, text and file URLs you send for processing, and the results we return (see section 4).
- Email sign-ups: your email address if you leave it in a form on our website.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device details, server logs and error reports, as well as aggregated information about how visitors use our website.
3. How we use your information
- to provide the Service and process your documents;
- to manage your account, credits, payments and invoices;
- to answer your questions and handle complaints;
- to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
- to find and fix errors and to improve the Service;
- to send you service emails and, if you signed up for them, product updates, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
4. Documents you upload
Receipts and invoices you upload may contain personal data, both yours and other people's. We process these documents on your behalf and only to generate the results you request:
- we do not store uploaded files or their contents in our database;
- document contents may briefly appear in technical logs, which are deleted automatically after a limited period;
- temporary page images created when converting PDF files are deleted automatically;
- we do not use your documents to train AI models.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting and database providers, OCR and AI model providers, our payment provider, error-monitoring and analytics tools, and our email delivery provider. They may use the information only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Our service providers operate in several countries, including the United States, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. When that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or recognised data transfer frameworks.
7. How long we keep your information
- account information: until you delete your account;
- billing records: for as long as we are required to keep them by tax and accounting laws;
- logs and error reports: for a limited period, after which they are deleted automatically;
- uploaded documents: only for as long as needed to process them, as described in section 4.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the European Union or state privacy laws in the United States), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. To exercise these rights or to delete your account, email us at support@wiseocr.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
9. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers. No online service is completely secure, so please keep your API keys safe.
10. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date and notify you by email of material changes.
